The dynamic responses of a concrete rectangular liquid storage tank on the surface rigid soil subjected to three-directional earthquake ground motion are investigated with material nonlinearity taken into consideration. Material in is considered using damage plasticity model. hydrodynamic pressure due finite-element solution governing equation for an inviscid and incompressible ideal fluid fluid–structure interaction It was observed from analyses that effects directionality significantly affect system. relative displacement structure increased by material. Inclined cracks were long-sided walls. can be reduced influenced earthquake’s motion. base shear overturning moment resulting impulsive mass corresponding height simplified mass-spring analogy also affected.
